📢 Our Promise to Subscribers

Teacher Prompts started after a chat in a London pub with Peps McCrea in September 2023. He had come across a blog post I wrote in the early days of ChatGPT-3 about how this technology could save teachers time. He saw an opportunity to bring this to a wider audience, recognizing that in a time of rapid technological change, teachers would need to stay up to date on AI advancements.

At the time, we had no idea if AI would turn out to be a passing fad—let alone that it would still be a major topic for teachers fifteen months later.

Recently, a company I respect reached out about sponsorship opportunities, which got me thinking about the next phase for Teacher Prompts. From the start, we saw the potential for the newsletter to grow into a platform that could attract sponsorship, but we wanted to ensure that any partnerships align with our values—making teachers’ working lives easier and helping pupils receive a high standard of education.

At the same time, transparency and trust with you, the reader, are paramount. That’s why we’ve established these principles for sponsorship: to ensure that all advertisements meet high standards while keeping the newsletter valuable, engaging, and relevant to educators.

1. Full Transparency

✅ Commitment: Every sponsored post or mention will be clearly marked as such. Readers will always know when content is paid for.

💡 Why It Matters: Transparency builds trust, ensuring readers can distinguish between editorial content and paid promotions.

2. Editorial Independence

✅ Commitment: If a sponsorship includes a review or analysis of a product, it will reflect my honest thoughts and experiences. Sponsors do not have editorial control.

💡 Why It Matters: Keeps Teacher Prompts credible—sponsors can advertise, but they can’t influence my opinions.

3. Relevance to Readers

✅ Commitment: We will only accept sponsorships from brands, tools, or services that benefit teachers in improving teaching and learning or reducing workload. No irrelevant or low-quality ads.

💡 Why It Matters: Readers only see sponsorships that matter to them, making every issue useful and engaging.

4. Respect for Reader Experience

✅ Commitment: Sponsored content will be integrated within the newsletter, ensuring that you do not miss out on the content that you originally subscribed for. Sponsorship will not replace content.

💡 Why It Matters: The newsletter remains relevant. You will continue to receive ‘knowledge builder’, ‘industry updates’ and ‘prompts’ sections, so the sponsorships should feel like enhancements, not distractions.

5. Data Privacy & Ethical Advertising

✅ Commitment: We will never sell subscriber data for advertising. We do not want to be data brokers.

💡 Why It Matters: Readers can trust that their privacy is respected, and they are not being tracked or exploited.
