Accessing ChatGPT 4o
Hey human, this week is all about what you need to know so that you can access the most powerful ChatGPT model - ChatGPT 4o. But first, let’s look at a prompt
✨ Fresh prompts
Prerequisites → Take any objective from the National Curriculum and get ChatGPT to consider what the prerequisites for that objective may be. A devilishly simple, but useful prompt to consider before you teach something that pupils may not be ready for.
You have a strong subject knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge of teaching primary mathematics, particularly in the teaching of fractions and decimals and what the prerequisites are to understand what is happening conceptually. I will be teaching Year 4 students in England 'recognise and write decimal equivalents of any number of tenths or hundreds'. Suggest some possible prerequisites that pupils must be secure in.

How do I access the new ChatGPT Model? → If you have already used ChatGPT in the past, then great news. You do not need to do anything. Simply log-in and use ChatGPT as normal. You will be able to tell if you are using the new model if, when you click ChatGPT in the top right hand corner you see this…
While it used to be the case that ChatGPT was behind the ChatGPT Plus paywall, OpenAI have found a way to make this new model cheaper, so they can provide some limited access to all users without needing to pay to upgrade. However, OpenAI are not fully transparent with how long you can use the new model for before it reverts back to ChatGPT 3.5.
Should you pay to update to Plus?
The answer to this question very much depends on how much you use ChatGPT and what you use it for. If you only use ChatGPT occasionally, and never ask it to generate images, then the free version is quite the upgrade. However, if you use ChatGPT regularly and you want to or currently use it generate images, the upgrading will definitely be something you will want to do, especially if you still want to be able to fall back to ChatGPT 4.0. The difference between the free and Plus models is set out below.
A word of caution. While the temptation to experiment with these new models is high, please remember that right now all prompts used in the Free and Plus tier are used by OpenAI to improve the product. Therefore, you should not use personal information of students or colleagues in these prompts if using this service.
