Hey human, this week we’ve got some news about how many teachers are using AI and Microsoft’s latest attempts at making AI more ubiquitous in education and enterprise markets.

OpenAI → OpenAI is the company behind many AI tools, including Dall-E and ChatGPT. Many other companies that offer AI tools, use an Application Programming Interface (API) provided by OpenAI to make their tools work by talking to ChatGPT or Dall-E.
Generative AI → Generative AI refers to all types of AI tools that generate content, usually based on a prompt by a user. The output usually takes the form of a text or image. Other types of AI are available!
Industry updates 🤖
Quizlet’s State of AI in Education → Global Quizzing app Quizlet recently polled 500 teachers and 1,000 students in the US with regards to their feelings about AI in education. One interesting tidbit is that teachers are using AI technologies more than students.
Microsoft’s Copilot is coming to Microsoft 365 soon → The era of the teacher admin assistant may be nearing as Microsoft have announced that their AI technology, Copilot, is coming to Microsoft 365. Microsoft Chat365 will be able to utilise the 365 ecosystem to provide time-saving workflows from multiple data points.

Foundation level: Put it in a table → Did you know that ChatGPT can put items in a table? Simply use ‘Create a table’ [what you want a table of]. Use in ChatGPT.

Expert level: Multiple examples of text a similar style → Need another example to bring out the deep structures of a writer’s linguistic style? Try the ‘Genre, writer, example of work, your detail ’ prompt to generate multiple examples of text that uses a writer’s distinct style, but on a subject you decide. The deep structure of the prompt looks like this: Write a [genre] in the style of [author] [example of work] but it’s [your detail]. Use in ChatGPT.

EMMA: (Rolls her eyes) Max, we've been sitting here for hours. I doubt it's coming today.
MAX: (Defensive) You never know, Emma. Miracles happen.
