To AI or not AI, that is the question.

There’s just two more weeks until Teacher Prompts gets back to normality. For now, enjoy a short update on what I think are some interesting things in the AI space.

📚 Knowledge builders

• AI and Assessment → Dylan Wiliam recently held a webinar on the ‘state-of-the-nation’ when it comes to using AI and assessment. If you are planning on doing any CPD on AI this coming academic year, it is well worth a watch.

🤖 Industry updates

• Grok-2 and Grok-2 Mini Beta → The next generation of Grok has been released in beta and is available for those with at least an X Premium account. Perhaps of interest to educators is that this includes the Flux 1 model for image creations. Controversially, this model has no guardrails. This means that you can produce content that you cannot in other Generative AI tools

• Procreate says no to Gen-AI → Popular digital image creation app, Procreate, has released a statement that they will never integrate generative AI tools into its app. The CEO is taking an ethical and philosophical stance that his company wants to enable humans to create and not generate.
