📚 AI+education news

• Great piece by Daisy Christodoulou on how AI-generated student work risks undermining the point of assessment and the need to move quickly to written assessments.

• New paper arguing that combining generative AI with Load Reduction Instruction can optimise student learning by tailoring support to cognitive needs and learner expertise.

• Transcript of a keynote on the implications of gen-AI for language learning—suggests it won’t revolutionise education… qu’est ce que tu pense?

• UK Education Secretary’s speech this week on the govt’s vision for AI in education.

🌍 Wider AI updates

• A global snapshot of how generative AI is being used across sectors—from education to healthcare to agriculture all based on real case studies. AI is here to stay, whether we want it or not.

• OpenAI just released a Coding Agent (called Codex) which will run lots of tasks in parallel in the background for coders. This is one of the first steps towards Recursive Self Improvement (RSI), a key catalyst of the intelligence explosion.

• AI is getting good at GeoGuessing. Rainbolt will not be happy….
